Sink or Swim

Sink or Swim - this was the theme for @saysomethingproductions underwater photo shoot to celebrate his story of risk, failure and ultimately success.

In this series of images, we explored conceptualizing his story from the beginning, but mainly focused on his SUCCESS. He had a vision and we were going to make it happen: Suit, whiskey, cigar, BOSS.

“I remember telling this to myself months leading up to quitting my job. I let the fear of the unknown hold me back for far too long. Now, it’s been 6 months of dabbling in the unknown and taking a gamble on myself, and I couldn’t be happier.⁠⁠Long story short, it took 2 attempts of failing before truly starting to succeed. Nothing comes easy, but if you’re going to gamble, I pray you gamble on happiness.”

We decided a maroon suit would look best for the shoot. Black would be too dark but maroon would contrast nice with the water and add a bit of personality. He found out quickly that maroon suits are very hard to come by! Finally after searching all of Austin, he found one that was perfect, but it was a hefty $400! He went for it. He got the suit. He deserved the suit! (we were just crossing our fingers that it would not get ruined in the process, and luckily it wasn’t.
